Museum Secrets is nominated for 3 Gemini Awards

This morning The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television announced the nominations for the 26th Annual Gemini Awards. Of the 110 categories on offer, Museum Secrets has been nominated in 3 categories, for best cross-platform project non-fiction (Robert Lang and David Oppenheim), the Barbara Sears Award for Best Editorial Research (Rebecca Snow), and Best Original Music Score for a Documentary Program or Series (Eric Cadesky and Nick Dyer).

The other nominees in the best cross-platform project non-fiction are CBC News Canada Votes 2011, We Will Remember Them - Digital (CBC), Live Right Now (CBC), Storming Juno Interactive (History Television), and The National Parks Project Interactive (Discovery Canada).

This year, new shows surged into the nominations categories across the board. History Television’s new drama series, The Kennedy’s received 10 nominations. Flashpoint, a 3-year-old show, leads with 17 nominations, including Best Dramatic Series.

The 26th Annual Gemini Awards will take place in Toronto beginning Tuesday Aug. 30 and the final awards ceremony takes place on September 7 with a live broadcast on CBC Television.
