If you missed it the first time, you can watch a rerun of the season’s opening show, Museum Secrets: Inside the State Hermitage Museum tonight at 10 PM on History Television.

Before you watch, check out our behind the scenes vlog with Museum Secrets researcher Karen Dougherty as she works on our story about the Scythian Mummies at the Hermitage in St. Petersburg.

The 3000 year old Scythian mummies in the museum are covered in mysterious tattoos. In this episode we’re there as The State Hermitage Museum researchers use infrared light to look for clues - literally under the mummies’ blackened skin - to find out what these mystical symbols could mean and more about the ancient culture that made them.

What is David Mazierski’s connection to these people from the bronze age? And who were the Scythians? Watch Museum Secrets: Inside the State Hermitage Museum on Thursday February 16th to find out!

More new episodes will start airing again on March 1, 2012. Stay tuned!
