Director’s Videos: 3 novel things to see in Moscow

Posted by on Mar 7, 2013 | No Comments

While shooting our upcoming episode Museum Secrets: Inside the State Historical Museum, Moscow, Director Victor Kushmaniuk created some short videos documenting what he saw around town. Check out these delightful and unique things the next time you’re in Moscow!

1) Women’s fashion in Red Square

Victor visits the center of Moscow’s lively tourist district with many great historical landmarks surrounding it including the Kremlin, Saint Basil’s Cathedral, Lenin’s Mausoleum, the GUM department store, and of course the State Historical Museum. Take a look at what he finds.

2) Vintage soda machine at the GUM department store

Dating back to the 1800′s, the GUM store has survived many incarnations - as a Bolshevik shopping complex, an office building, Soviet state-run store, and now a private luxury shopping haven. In this video our local driver/location manager shows Victor how to use a Russian soda machine with customizable flavor options!

3) Changing of the guard outside the Kremlin

Victor watches a beautifully orchestrated ceremony in which soldiers march to commemorate the Soviet people’s victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, near the ‘Tomb of the Unknown Soldier’, a war memorial dedicated to the Soviet soldiers killed during World War II.
