Not Hollywood: Gladiator Battle at El D’jem Amphitheatre

During a shoot for our upcoming episode Museum Secrets Inside the Bardo Museum, Tunisia, we went to the famous ancient Roman amphitheatre at El D’jem, to create a scene with some fighters depicting a Gladiator battle the way it would have been in the early 3rd century AD.

Established within a 19th Century palace, the Bardo museum features thousands of artifacts from excavations carried out throughout Tunisia, that date from the nation’s Carthaginian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman periods.
